Frequently Asked Questions, Privacy Policy and Terms and Conditions Statement outlines important information about Forward Move Psychology. Please email Drcarter@forwardmovepsychology.co.uk if you cannot find an answer to your question or you wish to find out more information about the service.
After you have contacted the service and completed the registration form you will be offered an initial assessment appointment. In this appointment you will be asked what your needs are and the reason you have contacted the service. Typically, initial assessment appointments last up to an hour and a half. At the end of our appointment, depending on what has been discussed, we will explore the most suitable options of support and together decide on the best way forward. If we agree to engage in psychological work together, we will agree a date/time for our sessions.
Most therapy appointments will typically last 50 minutes. Depending on the therapeutic approach or model some sessions may be longer. The recommended length of your sessions will be discussed with you prior to starting therapy. Initial assessments last up to an hour and a half.
If you wish to, you can stop your sessions at any point, whenever you wish to. Although there is no commitment to attend a specific number of sessions, we will aim for a set number of sessions that corresponds to the therapy goal that we develop at the start of our work together. You will also be invited to complete a review session at set intervals to ensure our work is in line with and is working towards our agreed therapy goal/ outcome.
If you need to contact your psychologist in-between your appointments, please contact them via email or telephone. Your Psychologist will aim to get back to you as soon as it is possible, however, it is important to note messages are not always checked on a daily basis.
If an emergency situation arises in-between your sessions and you need to access support for your immediate safety (e.g. you are struggling to keep yourself and/or other people safe from harm), you are strongly advised to contact your GP, call 111 and/or go to your local A&E. Forward Move Psychology Service does not operate a crisis/ emergency response. Emails and telephone messages are not always checked on a daily basis.
